The fastest way to find out whether you have a case is to tell Fred what happened. You can do that three ways: call, text, or fill out the short form on this page. Every message goes to Fred’s office and gets a personal reply, usually the same business day.

What to expect on the first call

Fred will ask you to walk through what happened in your own words. He will ask about dates, because deadlines drive everything: two years for most California injury claims, 30 days to answer a trustee’s notice about surplus funds, 10 court days to respond to an eviction lawsuit. Then he will tell you, plainly, whether you have a case worth pursuing and what the next step is.

You will also hear about cost before anything else happens. Injury and surplus-funds matters are handled on contingency. If you don’t get paid, we don’t get paid. For eviction defense, estate planning, and contract disputes, you get a quote first.

What to have nearby

None of this is required, but it speeds things up:

• The police report number or the other driver’s insurance information, for a car or rideshare accident
• Any letter from a foreclosure trustee, the recorded Notice of Trustee’s Sale, or the deed, for a surplus funds question
• The notice that was served on you and the date you received it, for an eviction
• The will or trust you have questions about, for a wills and trusts matter
• The contract and any emails or texts about it, for a breach of contract dispute

If you have none of it yet, call anyway. Missing paperwork can be gathered. A missed deadline cannot be undone.

Fred represents clients throughout Los Angeles County and Orange County and appears in the superior courts of both. Consultations are by phone or video by default, in person by arrangement, and at your home or hospital when you cannot travel after an injury. A note about confidentiality

Anything you tell Fred while asking whether he can represent you is kept confidential. Sending a message through this site does not by itself make Fred your attorney; that happens when you both sign a written agreement. Until then, do not send documents you consider highly sensitive. Describe the situation, and Fred will tell you what to bring to the first meeting.
